The Penguins parted with fan and locker room favorites Colby Armstrong and Erik Christensen, 2007 first-round pick Angelo Espositio and their 2008 first-round pick. They also received winger Pascal Dupuis from Atlanta in the deal.

In a second deal, the Penguins acquired big Toronto defenseman Hal Gill in exchange for their 2008 second- and fifth-round draft picks.

In this video team general manager Ray Shero explains how the deal went down, the impact of Hossa and Gill, what the Penguins gave up and how the trade improves the team.
