A West Wheatfield woman died yesterday after the car she was riding in struck a utility pole and flipped over, state police said.

Jean Morse, 79, died at the scene of the crash on Route 259 in West Wheatfield, Indiana County, at around 1:10 p.m.

Police said the driver, 84-year-old Charles Morse, also of West Wheatfield, was traveling south when he hit a guardrail before striking the pole and flipping, police said.
