Munhall police officer fired; officials mum on reason

A Munhall Borough police officer was discharged by the Munhall Borough Council at a council meeting last night, according to the borough's solicitor Greg Evashavik.

By a 7-0 vote, council members voted to have Officer Michael Curtin fired for undisclosed reasons. Both Police Chief Patrick D. Campbell and Mayor Raymond G. Bodnar said they were advised by the solicitor to not comment. Mayor Bodnar would only say "that there's a pending action" against Officer Curtin.

Mr. Evashavik said he was bound by Pennsylvania law to not comment because "it's a personnel matter."
