Charity events

• The School at McGuire Memorial is holding a "Special Auction for Special People" at 6 p.m. March 1 at the Westin Convention Center Hotel. A Shelby GT500 automobile also is being raffled off. Screenings

• The American Liver Foundation, in conjunction with the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association of the University of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny County Health Department, is offering screenings for hepatitis B from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 15 in Rangos 2 in the University Center at Carnegie Mellon University, 5000 Forbes Ave., Oakland. Research

• A research study of exercise and the immune system at the University of Pittsburgh is looking for healthy nonsmokers between ages 18 and 80, who exercise at least three times a week. Participation requires a 30-minute visit to the clinic at Magee-Womens Hospital,a sample of blood and saliva and a health questionnaire. Compensation is $25.
