District Roundup: Dukes women fall to St. Joseph
Sunday, February 10, 2008

The Duquesne women's team had three chances in the final 24 seconds to tie yesterday's Atlantic 10 game at Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia but couldn't get any shots to fall. The result was a 59-56 Saint Joseph's victory.

Kristi Little's 3-point attempt for the Dukes with 24 seconds left was short, but the rebound bounced off a Saint Joseph's player with 21 seconds remaining. Sam Thompson's 3-point shot was blocked by the Hawks' Brittany Ford with 14 seconds remaining and ended up in the hands of the Hawks' Jenna Loschiavo, who was fouled.

Loschiavo missed the front end of a one-and-one and Duquesne's Samantha Pollino grabbed the rebound. She got the ball to Little who missed another 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Kelly Britcher led Duquesne (11-12, 2-6 Atlantic 10) with 20 points. Ashley Logue had 14 for Saint Joseph's (13-10, 5-3).
