Squirrel Hill Manor, a 67-bed assisted living facility located off Browns Hill Road, could be closed within weeks for multiple, serious health and safety violations.
During four visits in the past two months, state inspectors found "many, many different violations," including several that endangered the home's 57 residents and led to at least one resident being hospitalized, according to representatives of the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare. At least one visit was the result of a complaint about the facility.
Inspectors will make a recommendation to their superiors within two weeks about whether to close the facility, said department spokeswoman Stacey Witalec.
