Talk hosts Scott Paulsen and John Steigerwald are returning to the airwaves in a shake-up of KDKA Radio's evening lineup.
Starting Feb. 18, they'll co-host a nightly show on KDKA-AM (1020) and online at kdkaradio.com. The Paulsen and Steigerwald show will air weeknights from 7 to 10 p.m. through March. They replace the syndicated Neal Boortz show, which stops airing on Feb. 15.
Overnight host Gary Dickson is being replaced by two syndicated talk shows: Dennis Miller from midnight to 3 a.m., followed by The Midnight Radio Network from 3 to 5 a.m.
Bill O'Reilly will remain on from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Paulsen and Steigerwald had a few test runs on Saturday afternoons on KDKA in recent weeks. Both had been part of the now-defunct talk lineup on sister station WTZN-FM (now WBZW), which switched to a contemporary hits format in October.
"We're excited to give them an opportunity on KDKA to see what develops with this show," said Keith Clark, vice president of programming for CBS Radio Pittsburgh. "We're hopeful this show will become a 'must hear' for our audience."
The station is switching its local programming to the evening hours, and its syndicated programming to the overnight hours, said senior vice president and general manager Michael Young. "The station is committed to airing a live, local show in those hours."
