"Fly Boys: Western Pennsylvania's Tuskegee Airmen" will make its public television premiere Thursday night on WQED.

WQED, the University of Pittsburgh and the Alcoa Foundation came together to produce and fund this documentary project.

In commemoration of their quest and to honor Black History Month, the program focuses on the bravery and courage of the African-American men from Western Pennsylvania who were part of this celebrated squadron.

In this video, Post-Gazette reporter Tia Ewing previews the documentary, scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Feb. 7.
