Industrial products provider Ampco-Pittsburgh reported fourth quarter net income of $10.2 million, or $1 per diluted share, on sales of $83.2 million, vs. a year-ago loss of $2.1 million, or 22 cents per diluted share, on sales of $78.4 million. The year-ago results reflected after-tax charges of $9.4 million, or 96 cents per diluted share, related to asbestos litigation. For all of 2007, the company earned a record $39.2 million, or $3.88 per diluted share, on sales of $346.8 million, vs. 2006 profits of $16.6 million, or $1.67 per diluted share, on sales of $301.8 million.
Dominion Resources Inc., the parent of Dominion Peoples, reported fourth-quarter net income of $299 million, or 52 cents per share, on revenues of $3.7 billion, vs. $31 million, or 4 cents, on revenues of $3.9 billion in the year-ago period. For all of 2007, earnings totaled $2.5 billion, or $3.88 per share, on revenues of $15.7 billion, vs. $1.4 billion, or $1.96 cents, on revenues of $16.3 billion in 2006.
NiSource Inc., the parent of Columbia Gas, posted fourth-quarter net income of $118.5 million, or 43 cents per share, on revenues of $915.6 million, compared with $116.9 million, or 43 cents, on revenues of $883.5 million a year ago.
Black Box Corp., the Lawrence-based computer networking provider, reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $8.3 million, or 47 cents per diluted share, on revenues of $258 million, vs. $10.5 million, or 59 cents, on revenues of $265 million a year ago.
Emclaire Financial Corp., Emlenton, Venango County, reported fourth-quarter net income of $685,000, or 54 cents a share, vs. $86,000, or 7 cents, a year ago. For the full year, the bank earned $2.7 million, or $2.13 a share, vs. $2 million, or $1.55, in 2006.
Eureka Financial Corp. reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $145,000, or 11 cents per diluted share, vs. $240,000, or 19 cents, a year ago.
Former Vice President Al Gore, an Apple Inc. director, exercised an option to buy 1,000 shares of the company for $7.48, reaping a potential profit of $124,060. At Apple's closing price Tuesday, the shares were worth a total of $131,540. Mr. Gore disclosed the purchase in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
