Central Catholic standout running back/wide receiver Andrew Taglianetti made a verbal commitment to the Pitt Panthers yesterday.
Taglianetti, who helped the Vikings win the WPIAL and PIAA Class AAAA championships last season, rushed for 1,161 yards, had 420 yards receiving and scored a total of 17 touchdowns.
Taglianetti was a member of the Post-Gazette's Fab 22 and was also the Post-Gazette's WPIAL Class AAAA player of the year. He is the Panthers' 20th commitment for this year.
Although he will sign his letter of intent next week, Taglianetti will take a grayshirt, which means he will not enroll until January and will wait until the 2009 season to begin his career.
