Catholic Schools Week will run Sunday through Feb. 2. Here are events at PG East parish schools:
Good Shepherd (1025 Braddock Ave., Braddock, 412-271-2492) -- The highlight will be Wednesday, when Bishop David Zubik tours the school and celebrates the 8:30 a.m. Mass. The school's celebration will have an Eastern European flair. Saturday: an International Foods Festival will follow the 4 p.m. Mass. Friday: a liturgy, a celebration of firefighters and a teacher luncheon in the convent.
Holy Rosary (7120 Kelly St., Homewood, 412-731-2567) -- School, operated by St. Charles Lwanga parish, opens with 10:30 a.m. Mass Sunday. Monday: Holy Rosary doors decorated along the school's yearlong theme, "Standing on Holy Ground"; Tuesday: grandparents spend the day with students; Wednesday: luncheon for area ministers; next Thursday: Family Night; Feb. 1: School Spirit Day; dedication of new computer lab.
Immaculate Conception, (321 Edmond St., Bloomfield, 412-621-5199) -- Science, book fairs will be in the social hall during the week. Students send cards to parish, community shut-ins. Saturday: liturgy then spaghetti dinner in the social hall; Monday: parents meeting with the Rev. Thomas J. Burke, parochial vicar of St. Paul Cathedral, as a speaker; Wednesday: Student Appreciation Day; next Thursday: Grandparents Day; Feb. 1: 8:30 a.m. liturgy.
North American Martyrs (2526 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, 412-373-0889) -- Sunday: Mass at 10 a.m., then an open house till 1 p.m.; Monday: Special Persons Day; next Thursday: a dress-down fund-raiser for the Chimbote Mission in Peru; Feb. 1: International Day.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic (4720 Fifth Ave., Oakland, 412-621-8189) -- Tuesday: Sylvia Antonia Nannyonga-Tamusuza of Uganda will give a presentation on African music and culture. She also will talk about an orphanage in Uganda for children whose parents have died from AIDS; next Thursday: Mass at St. Paul Cathedral.
