If winter is the time when you do home projects, two shows this weekend and next are for you.

The Pittsburgh Remodeling Expo continues today and tomorrow at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown, and the Pittsburgh Indoor Outdoor Home Show runs from Thursday through Jan. 27 at the ExpoMart in Monroeville.

Exhibitors at the remodeling expo include local home builders, kitchen and bath remodelers, window, roofing and siding installers, deck builders, flooring specialists, home security providers and interior designers. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and til 5 p.m. tomorrow. Admission is $5 for adults, free for children under age 18.

The indoor outdoor home show next week will feature more than 300 exhibits including landscape and interior design, kitchens, baths, decks and other types of home improvement.

As usual, the show will include an Animal Avenue of pet products and services and the "Ultimates" -- modular homes, back yard, bathroom, garage, office and more. Seminars and workshops will be offered each day and the Community Design Center of Pittsburgh will give free design consultations. Radio garden guru Jane Nugent will answer questions next weekend and KDKA TV and radio personalities will appear throughout the show.

Hours are 4 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, noon to 9:30 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. next Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 27. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors age 65 and older and free for children 12 and under. Information: www.pitthomeshow.com or 724-772-8043.
