RESTAURANT CLOSINGS

• Trilogy and Ciao Baby have closed their doors for the last time. Both Downtown restaurants opened in 2005.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST

• Can't believe it's already 2008? Take a longer look back with Sonoma Grill's "I love the '90s" dinner. On Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m., five courses will celebrate '90s trends such as Mediterranean food, regional cooking and micro-brewed beers. Many vintages from the '90s will be poured for your tasting enjoyment. Cost is $150 per person. For reservations, call 412-697-1336 or visit www.opentable.com.

CELEBRATE LOCAL WINE

• La Casa Narcisi Winery is hosting a wine dinner Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. Six courses will be served with six regional wine pairings. Local chef Michael Oshansky and certified sommelier Jerry Metallo (a new addition to the winery staff) will be collaborating on the menu and wine pairings. The dinner is $85 per person, including gratuity. Reservations and pre-payment are required. La Casa Narcisi is about 10 miles north of Pittsburgh in West Deer. For reservations, call 724-444-4744 or visit www.narcisiwinery.com for more information.

TASTE OF POLISH CULTURE

• On Feb. 2 the Polish Cultural Council will hold its third annual Ostatki "Winter White Party." Inspired by the European tradition of pre-Lenten celebration, the event will feature several different Polish vodkas as well as a Polish culinary table. The event will take place from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in Shadyside. Cost is $60 for PCC members, $65 for nonmembers. Only 200 tickets will be available.

For ticket availability, call Eva Tumiel-Kozak at 412-871-3347 or visit www. polishculturalcouncil.org for information.

DRINK, LEARN SOMETHING

• The Wilkins School Community Center is starting its next series of wine classes on Jan. 29 with Languedoc and Roussillon, two French wine regions that still offer some good values. Classes are $20 per person and will be limited to 20 participants. For information on reserving a place or other questions, call Kay at 412-244-8458 or visit www.wsccpgh.org.
