Upper St. Clair graduate Ryne Murray recorded his sixth double-double of the season to lead the Westminster College basketball team to its first Presidents' Athletic Conference victory on Sunday.
Murray, a sophomore forward, led the Titans with 25 points and 10 rebounds. He also set a career high with seven steals.
Murray leads Westminster in scoring (17.8 points per game), rebounds (9.5 per game), steals (2.7 per game), and field goal percentage (49.4). Murray was second in scoring last year as a freshman (12.8 points per game), but missed the second half of the season for academic reasons.
Thomas Jefferson High School graduate Pete Winovich capped his college football career at Bowling Green State University in the GMAC Bowl on Jan. 6.
Winovich, a quarterback during his high school days, played fullback for the Falcons. Playing in all 13 games for BGSU, Winovich's role included mostly blocking for leading rushers Anthony Turner and Willie Geter, but he did register four carries for 10 yards, plus he had 15 pass receptions for 93 yards as the Falcons.
The Falcons went 8-5, losing to Tulsa in the GMAC Bowl.
Peters Township graduate Dan Happe, a 6-foot-2 junior guard on the Waynesburg University basketball team, is averaging 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Happe has started all of the Yellow Jackets' 13 games. He is shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from 3-point range.
Happe played in 24 games last season, including three starts, and averaged 4.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.
