London Warren scored six points in the second overtime, including a big free throw, to lead No. 20 Dayton to an 83-81 victory against Akron last night.
The Flyers (12-1), who entered the Top 25 for the first time this season Monday after routing Pitt Saturday night in Dayton, extended their winning streak to 11 games.
With four seconds remaining in the second overtime, Warren hit a free throw to give Dayton an 82-79 lead.
Kurt Huelsman led the Flyers with 18 points, while Brian Roberts added 17 and Marcus Johnson 16.
Jeremiah Wood led the Zips (10-3) with 21 points, while Nick Dials had 19.
Tyler Hansbrough scored 25 points to lead No. 1 North Carolina (14-0) to a 90-61 rout against Kent State (10-3). Wayne Ellington and Ty Lawson both had 17 points for the Tar Heels, who never trailed in their fourth win in a row by least 25 points. Hansbrough was 11 for 11 from the free-throw line in his seventh consecutive 20-point game. ... Arinze Onuaku scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, Donte Greene added 22 points, and Syracuse held off St. John's, 76-70, in a conference opener. It was the fifth consecutive victory for Syracuse (11-3) and the third loss in four games for St. John's (6-6). ... Kentrell Gransberry had 20 points and 17 rebounds and Dominique Jones added 24 points to lead South Florida (10-4) past Rutgers (8-6), 68-45, in a conference opener for both teams Wednesday night.
