Emily Correal
Peters Township

Last week: Scored 35 and 25 points in victories against New Castle and Fox Chapel at the Ambridge Tournament. New Castle was the Post-Gazette's No. 1-ranked WPIAL Class AAAA team.

Check this out: Correal, a 6-foot-3 junior forward-center, has been a force for the Indians (9-2), averaging 21.4 points, 12.2 rebounds and 4.0 blocks a game. She has been a starter since her freshman year. Correal's father, Chuck, is a Laurel Highlands graduate who was a football lineman at Penn State and played in the NFL in 1980 with the Atlanta Falcons.

With Mt. Lebanon, Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park, you're in a tough section. Where does Peters Township fit in? I think we're good enough to at least be No. 3 in the section, and we're catching up to the first two (Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair).

Were you always a pretty good player? For 13 years, I was really into dance. I danced almost every day and was captain of our dance team. I'd say in fifth grade I started getting good in basketball. I stopped dance after eighth grade.

How much effect has your dad had on your athletic career? He's had a big impact, because he's always been coaching me, lifting weights with me, giving me tips on how to eat right.

People might be surprised to know that ... I can sing pretty well. I took voice lessons for three years and I've done five or so musicals.

Chris Klimchock
Greensburg Salem

Last week: Scored 30 points in a 71-59 victory Friday against Hempfield.

Check this out: Klimchock, a 5-foot-9, 145-pound junior, is one of the best point guards in the WPIAL. A starter since his freshman year, he is averaging 16.5 points and 7.0 assists a game for Greensburg Salem (9-3). Klimchock comes from a basketball family. His father, Rick, used to be Jeannette's coach. His older sister, Laura, is a senior at St. Vincent College and has scored more than 1,000 points. His younger brother, Ben, is a talented eighth-grader.

What is the most important part of being a point guard? I think you have to learn to be unselfish and not worry about yourself. You have to make other people better players.

Who do you look up to as a player? I've always liked Steve Nash, just because of the way he plays. I even try to do things like he does.

Prediction of Steelers-Jacksonville? The Steelers are going to get them this time, 24-20.

Food you can't do without? Chicken wings -- from Dino's in Latrobe.

What did you do the most over the holidays? Hung out with my family.

People might be surprised to know that ... I have a 4.0 grade point average.
