Bird lovers who like bargains will flock to the National Aviary on the North Side next week because admission is free.
All visitors will be admitted free from Dec. 26 through 31.
Next week's open door is free for all daily activities, including the indoor free-flight bird show, "Flights of the North Shore," Little Peepers story times, the Penguin Premier and daily interactive feedings.
The National Aviary, at 700 Arch St., expects to end the year with its highest total attendance and paid attendance since 2002 when the aviary's first baby penguin, Stanley, made its debut.

The doors are open every day except Christmas. Weekday hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. New Year's Eve hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
