Elizabeth Forward
The past week: Sanderson had 24 and 22 points in wins against West Mifflin and Uniontown.
Check this out: Sanderson, a 5-foot-8 senior guard, has been on the varsity since her freshman year and has scored more than 1,000 career points. She is averaging 21.7 points a game this season and has helped Elizabeth Forward to a 7-0 record and the Post-Gazette's No. 1 ranking in WPIAL Class AAA.
Is this the best team you've been on? By far. If we give everything we have the whole year, we can go undefeated. We have the talent.
Undefeated? Yes, if we put our minds to it.
Do you face many "junk" defenses designed to stop you? Just about every game. The key is not getting frustrated. If you get frustrated, it can take you out of the game. If I miss a few shots and don't get shots, I just have to keep trying and find other ways to score.
Food you can't do without? Popcorn and grilled cheese. I eat popcorn every day.
Gift you're hoping for at Christmas? I asked my mom for a new cell phone and shoes. I have, like, 900 pair of shoes.
If you won a million dollars, what would you buy first? Probably a shoe store.

Nick Novak
Franklin Regional
The past week: Novak scored a career-high 36 points in an 82-71 victory Tuesday against Connellsville and had 24 in a 76-68 overtime victory Friday against Latrobe.
Check this out: Novak, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound junior guard, has helped Franklin Regional win six games in a row. He is a quick, slashing guard with a good pull-up jump shot. He is averaging 19.6 points a game.
Were you just feeling it when you scored 36? Definitely. But I didn't even take a 3-pointer. I don't shoot many 3-pointers. I just like going to the basket a lot.
Is this Franklin Regional's year to make some noise? Out of the three seasons I've been here, this is our year. I think we're capable of going deep into the playoffs. This is the most excited everyone has been.
Gift you're hoping for at Christmas? I already got it. An iPod touch. It was a Christmas present, but I said I wanted it now.
Where should Jeannette star football player Terrelle Pryor go to college? The University of Pittsburgh.
People might be surprised to know that ... I love dancing.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? A successful businessman, with a house on the beach.
