Marian Patchen Schleppy, shareholder, Matis Baum Rizza O'Connor, was inducted into the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.

Henry R. Piehler, professor, Carnegie Mellon University, was named a fellow of ASM International, The Materials Information Society.

Kathryn Nusbaum of Middle America Planning Inc. was accepted for membership in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.

Jennifer S. Davis was named president of the Washington County Medical Society. Dr. Davis practices ophthalmology at Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Center.

Nathaniel Morley was appointed Southwest division chair of the National Association of Social Workers, Pennsylvania Chapter, and to the chapter's board.

Alexander J. Graziani, executive director, Smart Growth Partnership of Westmoreland County, based at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, was elected to a two-year term as president of the Pennsylvania Planning Association.

Comcast named Glenn Lytle vice president of business services for the Three Rivers Region.

Cowden Associates Inc. promoted Lee Buchele and Nancy Luttrell to directors, actuarial and retirement plan service.

Education

Point Park University appointed Dr. Karen S. McIntyre dean of the school of arts and sciences and Soren Hogsgaard dean of the school of business. They have been serving as acting deans of their respective schools since January.

PSI hired Tom Ali as executive vice president.

Dr. John T. Comerci Jr. joined the Western Pennsylvania Hospital's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to treating patients, he will serve as the department's director of outreach.

Priory Hospitality Inc., owner of The Priory Hotel and Pittsburgh's Grand Hall at the Priory, named Mark Pritchard general manager, grand hall banquet facility, and Walter Czapliewicz, food and beverage director.

Investment Services

Bill Engel has joined Bill Few Associates as a financial consultant/vice president.

Federated Investors Inc. appointed Colin B. Starks senior vice president and national sales director of the firm's broker/dealer sales division.

Law

Thomas C. Wolski, patent attorney, joined The Webb Law Firm. Mr. Wolski handles intellectual property litigation and patent and trademark prosecution.

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius hired two new associates to its business and finance practice. Melissa A. Mares focuses on mergers and acquisitions of publicly and privately held companies, securities offerings, corporate finance and general counsel matters. Melissa A. Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott hired Carol A. Marmo as a member in the business division. Ms. Marmo concentrates on intellectual property matters, including mechanical and chemical technologies.

Koppers Inc. promoted Phil Pegher to controller for North American Carbon Materials and Chemicals.

Technology

Future POS of PA named John Giles president and Kevin A. Egyed vice president of sales.

Summa hired Brian Dupper, solution sales executive; Mason Durnell, technical consultant; and Chris Gillotti and Chris Woolner, associate technical consultants, and promoted Hank Lish to director of sales.

Lawrence E. Stephens was appointed chief information officer, DynaVox Systems.
