E! unveils another celebreality show, "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood" (10:30 p.m. Sunday), which seems just as contrived as so many others. The opening scenes of the premiere, in particular, appears to be poorly scripted and acted as Snoop's daughter runs through the house looking for the source of loud music that interrupts her studies. She finds her pops listening to tunes in a shed in the backyard (there's a "Steelers Country" sign on it, visible in an upcoming episode).
"This ain't the Huxtables, but we living comfortable," Snoop raps in the opening credits.
Snoop's most famous accesory -- that would be a marijuana joint -- is not seen in this show. Instead, wife Shante (AKA "boss lady") orders Snoop's entourage to quit buying him junk food.
Another contrived plot from the pilot involves Snoop's fear of needles. He doesn't want his blood drawn by a doctor who looks like an actress and has a desk with nothing on it. When was the last time you saw a doctor's desk completely free of paper?
The doc sends him to Yoga, where Snoop stares at the breasts of the instructor. Then the doc sends him to get accupuncture from a doctor who turns out to be blind (Snoop bolts from the office).
There's no resolution to this plot or the one about the messy Dogg house after a maid quits. The maid is shown complaining about the job in Spanish as she leaves the house while the Mexican Hat Dance song plays, which is bound to offend some viewers.
