New friends, old places and familiar faces permeate the Christmas television landscape this year.

First up, Mario Lopez teams with Melissa Joan Hart in "Holiday in Handcuffs," a new made-for-television movie that finds a modern young woman in the middle of a life crisis who decides to kidnap a Christmas date to take home to her parents. It airs Dec. 9 on ABC Family.

New adoptive mother Sheryl Crow hosts the ninth annual "A Home for the Holidays." The program shares the joys of adopting and features performances by James Blunt, Carole King and Reba McEntire. It airs 8 p.m. Dec. 21 on CBS.

On the animated front, "The Incredibles" hits the small screen this season along with "The Polar Express," "Dr. Seuss' Cat in the Hat" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Look for repeat showings of all throughout the listings.

The special not to be missed is "The Nativity Story." Director Catherine Hardwicke's 2006 film starring Keisha Castle-Hughes and Oscar Isaac as the young Mary and Joseph stirred hearts across the world as their journey to Bethlehem was brought to the big screen like never before. The movie airs 8 p.m. Nov. 24 and throughout the holiday season on HBO.
