Hundreds rally to save Schenley
Tuesday, November 13, 2007

About 200 people, mostly students, rallied in front of the Pittsburgh Public Schools' offices in Oakland tonight to protest the proposed closing of Pittsburgh Schenley High School.

The rally preceded the city school board's monthly public hearing. About 50 people had signed up to address the school board.

On Oct. 31, Superintendent Mark Roosevelt called for closing Schenley at the end of this school year and dividing its 1,100 students among three other schools.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
