Monday, November 12, 2007

Two people were killed in a traffic collision Sunday in Saltlick, Fayette County, state police said.

Michelle Stewart, 36, of Indian Head, and Gary Lee Keslar, 52, of White, had been passengers in a Ford Escort wagon that collided with a Ford coupe occupied by four teenagers around noon.

Investigators said the two cars collided at Buchannan and Melcroft roads in Saltlick because the coupe with the teens was unable to stop at a stop sign.

The 17-year-old driver, of Melcroft, was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, and one of his 15-year-old passengers, of Champion, was taken to Children's Hospital.

Two other teen passengers were taken to UPMC Presbyterian.

David Stewart, who was driving the Escort wagon, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian.

No information was available on the conditions of any of those who have been hospitalized.

Police said neither driver and none of their passengers wore seatbelts at the time of the crash.
