Sources for locally raised turkeys include:

• Dream Thyme Farm, Mercer, Mercer County.

The turkeys are raised on pasture and local organic feed. No hormones or antibiotics. Because there are many goats on this farm, the turkeys are fed raw goat's milk as a treat. Quite a few of them have been to educational workshops where children have learned up close about turkeys and where their food comes from. The sizes should be around 20 to 28 pounds. Fresh, free-range turkeys raised without antibiotics, hormones or medications. There is no animal protein in the feed. Come to the farm to order (new orders are limited because of supply). No phone orders. No luck? You can still make a reservation for dinner at Hyeholde Restaurant in Moon. They've been roasting Eichner's turkeys for the past dozen years. 724-935-2897

• J.L. Kennedy's Four Seasons Farm, Butler, Butler County.

Their all-natural fresh turkeys are free of additives, antibiotics and hormones. They are sold at the East Liberty Farmers Market Co-op every Saturday morning.
