Big Ben has bruised hip, should play Sunday
Tuesday, November 06, 2007

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a bruised right hip, but he should be ready to play against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, coach Mike Tomlin said today.

Roethlisberger could take things a little easy in practice when the Steelers resume work Wednesday.

Tomlin said defensive end Aaron Smith also could return to start against the Browns. Smith, who missed the past two games with a sprained knee, will work in practice on a limited basis Wednesday.

Fullback Dan Kreider, who started his third straight game Monday night, has a concussion and "should be fine," Tomlin said. Backup linebacker Clint Kriewaldt, a key member of the special teams, has a bruised calf and Tomlin said he would guess he's questionable this week.

Halfback Willie Parker has slight swelling in a knee that Tomlin does not expect will limit his play against the Browns. Backup tight end Jerame Tuman still has a disc problem in his back and is questionable "at best," according to the coach.
