WPIAL Class AAAA Roundup: Plum wins first in conference, makes playoffs
Saturday, October 27, 2007

Despite taking a seven-game losing streak and a winless Big East record into last night, Plum is in the WPIAL playoffs.

The Mustangs (2-7, 1-4) defeated visiting Fox Chapel, 27-16, to forge a tie for the fourth and final playoff berth from the conference. But Plum advances because it had "more" tiebreaker points: minus-21 to Fox Chapel's minus-26 and Kiski's minus-27.

Kyle Simmons rallied the Mustangs from a 16-14 deficit, scoring on a 1-yard run in the third quarter and throwing a 2-yard touchdown pass to Jon Sharp in the fourth against the Foxes (3-6, 1-4).
