Spirited celebrations in South

It's the boo-ti-ful season, and South is ready to celebrate. Here's a list of official times for town trick-or-treat sessions (for the most part, the kiddies will call on the traditional Oct. 31 date) as well as lists of other spirited Halloween activities.

So get your face mask fully secured and start the howling!

Baldwin Borough

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The borough's annual parade will be held Saturday starting at 1 p.m. at the municipal building. Refreshments will be available and treat bags will be distributed.

Baldwin Township

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Judging of the township's annual Halloween house decorating contest will be held between 7 and 9 o'clock tonight.

The annual Halloween parade will be held at the township's community center at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The parade features a restored calliope.

Bethel Park

Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Brentwood

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Parade units will line up at 1 p.m. Saturday at Moore Elementary School and proceed to Brentwood High School, where there will be treats and contest judging.

Bridgeville

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Castle Shannon

Trick or treat 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A Halloween costume parade will leave the library parking lot at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Clairton

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Candy will be handed out at the municipal building starting at 5 p.m. that day.

Dormont

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A parade will start at 11 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Potomac and Glenmore avenues and will proceed to the municipal center. Treat bags and cookies will be distributed.

Dravosburg

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A parade will begin at 5 p.m. that day at the municipal building parking lot. There will be treat bags.

Duquesne

Trick or treat, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Elizabeth Borough

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Elizabeth Township

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Forward

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Glassport

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A parade will start at 5 p.m. Monday near Huntingdon Bank and will end at the Honor Roll. There will be treats and prizes for costumes. Participating children should be registered at the municipal building in advance.

Green Tree

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

There will be a Halloween parade and ghostly entertainment from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Green Tree fire hall. Prizes and treats for everyone.

Homestead

Trick or treat, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A block party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday on Ninth Avenue between Amity and West streets in front of the Homestead police station. There will be games, refreshments, pony rides, a climbing wall and a disc jockey.

Jefferson Hills

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The police department will sponsor a Halloween party at the municipal building from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday for children and their parents.

Liberty

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Parade units will line up at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at Scene Ridge and River Ridge avenues for the 5:30 p.m. start of a parade to the municipal building, where there will be costume judging and prizes.

Lincoln

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

McKeesport

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Mt. Lebanon

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A parade will start at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery and march to Washington Elementary. Children can search for candy and treats at Mt. Lebanon businesses. Halloween crafts will be among the activities offered.

St. Clair Hospital will host two sessions of trick or treat -- 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 6 p.m. Friday. Register online at www.stclair.org or call 412-942-6280.

Mount Oliver

Trick or treat, 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Munhall

Trick or treat, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A parade starts at 4 p.m. Saturday at First Commonwealth Bank on Main Street. It ends at Munhall's Fire Company 4, where treats will be distributed.

Peters

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Pleasant Hills

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Lineup will start at 6:30 p.m. and a parade will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Community Church, proceed down Old Clairton Road to the Bill Green Shopping Center and return to the parking lot. Prizes will be awarded and treats will be distributed.

Port Vue

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Scott

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

South Fayette

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

South Park

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A parade will line up at 1:30 p.m. Sunday starting at the David J. Henney Funeral Home. There will be a DARE party from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Township Community Room.

South Versailles

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Upper St. Clair

Trick or treat, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Versailles

Trick or treat, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

West Elizabeth

Trick or treat, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

West Homestead

Trick or treat, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

West Mifflin

Trick or treat, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

There will be a haunted gym and parade 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday for residents' children at West Mifflin Area High School.

Whitaker

Trick or treat, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitehall

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

White Oak

Trick or treat, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

A parade will start at 1 p.m. that day at Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church. Participants should line up at 12:30.

South Park Township will hold its Halloween Parade at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, stepping off at the David Henney Funeral Home. Also, a DARE Halloween Party will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Township Community Room. An incorrect time for the parade was listed in PG South Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007.

White Oak Borough's trick or treat hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The day was reported incorrectly in in PG South Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007.
