Last year was a big one for the little Mini.
That's because the second-generation Mini Cooper bowed, with a greatly updated interior, a few modifications to the front and rear end, and some new power that makes a fun driving experience even more enjoyable.
For 2008, you'll see pretty much the same car, but that's okay. Mini Coopers are pretty cool classics already, and change is not necessary for this car, and anyone who owns one will tell you so.
The 2008 model is powered by a 1.6-liter, 118-horsepower four-cylinder engine that is rated at 27 mpg in the city and 36 on the highway. The S version of the Cooper is powered by a 1.6-liter, 172-horsepower turbocharged four.
Prices range from $18,880 to $26,310.
Later this year, look for the Mini Clubman, a longer wheelbase station wagon-like model that features split rear doors, a clamshell side door, and somewhat more space than the sedan and convertible. You'll be able to get it in both base and S models, and prices will start around $21,000.
