Copperfield cancels, Gore has a request, DeGeneres may be a serial re-gifter
Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Magic man David Copperfield is making his upcoming shows in Southeast Asia disappear after reports surfaced that he's being investigated for sexual misconduct.

Organizers said they were informed Sunday via e-mail that the scheduled shows in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand have been indefinitely postponed.

A woman has acccused Mr. Copperfield, aka David Kotkin, of forcing himself on her while the two were in Bermuda.

The FBI raided one of Mr. Copperfield's warehouses and searched a casino hotel in Las Vegas last week as part of its investigation.

Why the FBI?

According to news reports, the woman didn't report it until she returned to the States, specifically Seattle. That police department turned it over to the FBI.

Of course, David denies everything.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are making their first joint producing effort with an HBO series.

Obviously, they forgot about little Shiloh.

Nevertheless, the dynamic globe-trotting, adopting duo is teaming up with Scott Burns, who co-wrote "The Bourne Ultimatum," for a drama chronicling the lives of humanitarian workers assigned to dangerous places.

Scott will write and co-produce with the couple. He's on a roll, having produced Al Gore's comeback vehicle, "An Inconvenient Truth."

Remember, Brad produced "A Mighty Heart," in which Angelina starred but did not produce.

Speaking of AlGo, he has requested that Melissa Etheridge be among the folks performing at the annual Nobel Peace Price Concert in Norway next month.

Melissa wrote the Oscar-winning song "I Need to Wake Up" for "An Inconvenient Truth." Others slated to sing include: Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox, Earth Wind & Fire, KT Tunstall and Colombian singer Juanes.

Oooh, this sounds like a stellar lineup.

We think the GBB should be in the house, don't you?

How much is it to fly to Norway?

Here we go!

We guess everybody and their momma are gonna come out with a story about Ellen DeGeneres and a dog.

Page Six is reporting that little Iggy wasn't the first doggy the comedian/talk show host has gotten rid of.

Kerri Randles said two years ago she gave Ellen a dog named Stormy. Kerri thought Ms. DeGeneres was going to keep the canine, but she "re-gifted" the mutt to a member of her staff. And according to other reports, our girl has done this at least nine other times.

OK? Is there anybody else out there to whom Ellen has given a dog?

Please, let us know because we can't possibly spend our time thinking about the war in Iraq, daily shootings here at home, global warming, AIDS, poverty, toxic toys and sneaking, conniving, lying no-good politicians.

Here we go, part II!

Kid Rock must have thought he was at the VMAs again.

The Detroit cowboy was arrested outside an Atlanta waffle house this past weekend.

Seems Mr. Rock and his entourage stopped at the place after performing. Some guy there recognized one of the women hanging with said rocker, and you know what happened.

The guy said something, Kid said something, and then it was on like popcorn.

Anyway, Kid was released on $1,000 bail Sunday night.

Still in "Sopranos" withdrawal?

Well, HBO is releasing "The Sopranos: The Complete Book," which includes an interview with the show's creator, David Chase.

Of course, he has to talk about that series finale, about which everybody had something to say. Our girl Aida Turturro gave us her take the other week.

In the interview, David says, "There was so much more to say than could have been conveyed by an image of Tony face down in a bowl of onion rings with a bullet in his head. Or, on the other side, taking over the New York mob. The way I see it is that Tony Soprano had been people's alter ego."

The book also includes photos of the cast by the inimitable Annie Leibovitz; cast and crew interviews about the demise of Adriana; a character chart; a map of film locations in Jersey; and a complete episode guide.

Now, does anybody got a problem with that?
