Halloween skull pails

R.L. Albert & Son is recalling about 55,000 skull pails filled with Halloween candy mix. The surface paint on the eyes, nose, and teeth of the skull contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

This recall involves the Albert's Halloween skull pails filled with candy mix. The skull-shaped pail is white with green eyes, nose and teeth. The pail has a clear lid with a label in which "Albert's" and "Skull Pails Filled with Halloween Candy Mix" is printed. The pail measures about 51/2 inches tall.

Retail stores sold the item from September through this month for $2.

Consumers should take the item to the retailer where it was purchased to receive a refund.

Glow sticks

Dunkin' Donuts LLC is recalling about 1 million pink and orange glow sticks. The glow sticks are not properly labeled to warn consumers that the cap and lanyard can detach, posing a choking hazard. Additionally, the lanyard poses a strangulation hazard to young children.

From September through October, the pink and orange glow sticks were given away free with purchases of doughnuts.

Consumers should return the glow sticks to any Dunkin' Donuts for a free doughnut.

Double hammocks

Collections Etc. Inc. is recalling 9,000 double hammocks. The wooden rods at the head and foot of the hammock used to extend the fabric can break, causing the hammock to collapse and the user to fall to the ground.

This recall involves hammocks made with a solid green fabric and white support ropes. The hammock's green fabric measures 73 inches long by 46 inches wide and supports up to 350 pounds.

The hammocks were sold on Web sites and through catalogs from May through August for about $20.

Consumers should contact Collections Etc. for a refund.

Shag rugs

J.C. Penney is recalling about 2,900 "Alyssa" shag rugs. The rugs fail to meet federal standards for flammability and could ignite, posing a risk of fire and burn injuries to consumers.

This recall involves "Alyssa" shag rugs that were available in the following dimensions: 2- x 3-foot oval, 4- x 6-foot oval, 5- x 8-foot oval, 8- x 11-foot oval, 8-feet round and a 2- x 6-foot rectangular runner. The rugs have a 1-inch pile height and were available in four color patterns: red/natural/brown, chocolate/olive/natural, gold/rust/natural and blue/rust/green/natural.

The rugs were sold through the Penney catalog and on the company's Web site from June through August for between $30 and $300.

Consumers should return the rugs to any J.C. Penney store for a refund.

Art set lap desks

CBOCS Distribution Inc. is recalling about 7,8000 Princess magnetic travel art set lap desks. The surface paint on the zipper pull of the lap desk contains lead in excess of the federal lead paint standard.

The recalled art set lap desk is a zippered case that opens into a lap desk with markers, crayons and magnetic pieces. The lap desk is 103\u20444-inches wide and is pink colored. "Made in China" and item number 266822 are printed on a sticker located on the product's packaging.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores sold the item from April through August for about $20.

Consumers should contact the firm or return the product to any Cracker Barrel location for a refund.
