Gerry Dulac's NFL Forecast: Week 6
Friday, October 19, 2007
DULAC'S MARK:
LAST WEEK: 7-6 (.538)
SEASON RECORD: 50-39 (.562)

Steelers (4-1) at Denver Broncos (2-3), 8:15 p.m.

THE SKINNY: Let's see, the Steelers are one of only two teams to win four games by 21 or more points. The Broncos have allowed 79 points in the past two games.

PREDICTION: Steelers, 27-17

Baltimore Ravens (4-2) at Buffalo Bills (1-4), 1 p.m.

THE SKINNY: With a bye week approaching, Steve McNair gets another game off. He will return in time for the Nov. 5 showdown game in Heinz Field.

PREDICTION: Ravens, 14-9

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) at Detroit Lions (3-2), 1 p.m.

THE SKINNY: The Bucs have won the past four and six of past seven against the Lions. They will need some of that stingy defense in Detroit.

PREDICTION: Buccaneers, 23-21

Tennessee Titans (3-2) at Houston Texans (3-3), 1 p.m.

THE SKINNY: The Titans finally lost a road game after five consecutive wins. They might lose another after losing quarterback Vince Young.

PREDICTION: Texans, 17-13

New England Patriots (6-0) at Miami Dolphins (0-6), 1 p.m.

THE SKINNY: The Patriots have scored 34 or more points in every game this season. The Dolphins are one of two winless teams and just gave up 41 to the Browns.

PREDICTION: Patriots, 38-7

San Francisco 49ers (2-3) at New York Giants (4-2), 1 p.m.

THE SKINNY: Did you know Manning-Burress have combined for as many touchdowns as Manning-Harrison (25) since 2005? The Giants have won four in a row.

PREDICTION: Giants, 27-13

Atlanta Falcons (1-5) at New Orleans Saints (1-4), 1 p.m.

THE SKINNY: New Orleans finally won a game that counted for the first time since the '06 playoffs. The Saints might even make it two in a row against the Falcons.

PREDICTION: Saints, 30-10

Arizona Cardinals (3-3) at Washington Redskins (3-2), 1 p.m.

THE SKINNY: Once involved in a quarterback quandary, the Cardinals are down to Tim Rattay. Against the Redskins, that's like playing Oakmont without your sand wedge.

PREDICTION: Redskins, 24-9

New York Jets (1-5) at Cincinnati Bengals (1-4), 4:05 p.m.

THE SKINNY: At least Marvin Lewis is propped on crutches. The Bengals need something to keep them standing after losing four in a row.

PREDICTION: Bengals, 27-17

Kansas City Chiefs (3-3) at Oakland Raiders (2-3), 4:05 p.m.

THE SKINNY: The Chiefs have won three of their past four overall and two in a row on the road against the AFC West. Holy cow, Priest Holmes might return.

PREDICTION: Chiefs, 20-17

Minnesota Vikings (2-3) at Dallas Cowboys (5-1), 4:15 p.m.

THE SKINNY: The Cowboys (NFC-high 203 points) will score easily against the Vikings (31 points to the Bears

THE SKINNY: ugh!). But can they stop Texas-born Adrian Peterson?

PREDICTION: Cowboys 34-20

Chicago Bears (2-4) at Philadelphia Eagles (2-3), 4:15 p.m.

THE SKINNY: It wasn't that long ago they were the dominant teams in the NFC. Now it's like watching Carol Burnett and Harvey Korman.

PREDICTION: Bears, 17-16

St. Louis Rams (0-6) at Seattle Seahawks (3-3), 4:15 p.m.

THE SKINNY: QB Marc Bulger is scheduled to return for the Rams. They will need something to end their four-game losing streak.

PREDICTION: Seahawks, 23-21

Indianapolis Colts (5-0) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1), Monday, 8:30 p.m.

THE SKINNY: Uhhhh, that Super Bowl hangover should be kicking in any day now. The Jaguars had 566 yards rushing in two games vs. Colts in '06.

PREDICTION: Jaguars, 24-23
