Gerry Dulac's NFL Forecast: Week 6
Saturday, October 13, 2007

Cincinnati Bengals (1-3) at Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)

Time: 1 p.m., Arrowhead Stadium

The Bengals needed the bye week to improve their defense. If they didn't, they might as well say bye-bye to the season.

Prediction: Bengals, 24-21

Miami Dolphins (0-5) at Cleveland Browns (2-3)

Time: 1 p.m., Cleveland Browns Stadium

The skinny: About the only chance for the winless Dolphins: If Joey Porter picks a pregame fight with Kellen Winslow or Braylon Edwards.

Prediction: Browns, 23-20

St. Louis Rams (0-5) at Baltimore Ravens (3-2)

Time: 1 p.m., M&T Bank Stadium

The skinny: The Rams are one of three winless teams in the league. They will remain that way in Baltimore, even though the Ravens can't score points.

Prediction: Ravens, 23-3

Houston Texans (3-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1)

Time: 1 p.m., Alltel Stadium

The skinny: There isn't a team with a losing record in the AFC South, the league's strongest conference. But the Texans will remain in the basement.

Prediction: Jaguars, 13-12

Washington Redskins (3-1) at Green Bay Packers (4-1)

Time: 1 p.m., Lambeau Field

The skinny: Brett Favre hit the wall after the first half against Chicago. The Packers better hope it was just for that game, not the season.

Prediction: Packers, 24-23

Minnesota Vikings (1-3) at Chicago Bears (2-3)

Time: 1 p.m., Soldier Field

The skinny: The Bears looked like the old Bears in the second half in Green Bay. Can they maintain that at home, where they have won 13 of last 16?

Prediction: Bears, 24-14

Philadelphia Eagles (1-3) at New York Jets (1-4)

Time: 1 p.m., Giants Stadium

The skinny: Like choosing between Britney Spears and Paris Hilton for woman of the year. The last loss for each was to the Giants.

Prediction: Jets, 17-16

Tennessee Titans (3-1) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2)

Time: 1 p.m., Raymond James Stadium

The skinny: The Buccaneers keep losing players for the season. And the upstart Titans have won their past five games on the road.

Prediction: Titans, 16-14

Carolina Panthers (3-2) at Arizona Cardinals (3-2)

Time: 4:05 p.m., University of Phoenix Stadium

The skinny: A pair of teams who lost their starting quarterback for the season. Right now, the Cardinals are better served with Kurt Warner.

Prediction: Cardinals, 24-20

New England Patriots (5-0) at Dallas Cowboys (5-0)

Time: 4:15 p.m., Texas Stadium

The skinny: Good quarterbacks don't throw five interceptions in one game. They throw three or more TDs in the first five games of the season.

Prediction: Patriots, 34-21

Oakland Raiders (2-2) at San Diego Chargers (2-3)

Time: 4:15 p.m., Qualcomm Stadium

The skinny: Quick, now, who's in first place in the AFC West? It's the Raiders, who lead the NFL in rush offense.

Prediction: Chargers, 31-17

New Orleans Saints (0-4) at Seattle Seahawks (3-2)

Time: 8:15 p.m., Qwest Field

The skinny: Mike Holmgren can't seem to beat the Steelers. But he has never lost to the Saints (5-0), who can't seem to beat anybody.

Prediction: Seahawks, 27-21

New York Giants (3-2) at Atlanta Falcons (1-4)

8:30 p.m. tomorrow, Georgia Dome

The skinny: Plaxico Burress, touchdown-maker? The former Steelers receiver has 18 in the past 21 games and leads the NFC with seven.

Prediction: Giants, 27-24

Dulac's mark *** Last week: 9-5 (.643) *** Season: 43-33 (.565)
