Today -- A "Buy It Now" price has been established for glass art by the likes of Dante Marioni, Davide Salvadore, Kathleen Mulcahy and Tom Farbanish that, if not sold previously, will be auctioned Nov. 7 to benefit the Pittsburgh Glass Center. An exception is a large Dale Chihuly Macchia that will be auctioned Oct. 27 if it has not been sold. The art may be seen at the center or on its Web site; an auction preview party will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 18, at the center, 5472 Penn Ave., Friendship (412-365-2145 or www.pittsburghglasscenter. org).

Saturday -- 6-9 p.m., opening reception for "Elements of Glass," Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors 2007 Members Exhibition, Panza Gallery, 115 Sedgwick St., Millvale. Through Nov. 10 with a closing party from 6-10 p.m. (412-821-0959).
Oct. 21 and 22 -- noon-4 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, individual 30-minute workshops with Tamarack resident glass artist Boyd Miller at Oglebay Institute, Wheeling, W.Va. Workshop, focusing on marble making, is $40. Overnight packages begin at $319, including workshop, lodging, some meals and admission to house and glass museums, the latter displaying more than 3,000 pieces of historic Wheeling-area-made glass.
