Olympic gold medalist and professional wrestler Kurt Angle was arrested in Moon last week on drunken driving charges, police said.

Mr. Angle, 38, who grew up in Mt. Lebanon and lives in Moon, admitted to driving home from a local bar when approached by officers at his residence, according to a Moon Township Police Department news release.

He was noticeably intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test, police said. A motorist observed a white Cadillac Escalade pulling out of a bar parking lot at around 1:50 p.m. Friday, nearly striking another vehicle, according to the release.

The motorist then reported observing the vehicle cross the double yellow lines, almost running into a sign. Police said they found a vehicle in Mr. Angle's driveway matching the motorists' description. Mr. Angle also matched the description given by the motorist, according to the news release.

Mr. Angle was charged with driving under the influence and careless driving.
