GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to upset the Steelers, 21-14, tonight.
The loss was the first for new Steelers coach Mike Tomlin after three consecutive lopsided victories to open the season. Former Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt evened his record to 2-2 in his first season as Arizona's coach.
Rookie Steve Breaston, who played at Woodland Hills High School, returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown to give the Arizona Cardinals a 14-7 lead against the Steelers early in the fourth quarter.
The punt return came after a penalty on Carey Davis for being ineligible down field on a punt that the Steelers' had downed at Arizona's 25.
Arizona scored again with 4:14 left when Edgerrin James ran for a two-yard touchdown.
The Steelers, who scored a touchdown in the first quarter on a 43-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Santonio Holmes, was held scoreless after that until late in the game. Holmes caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Roethlisberger with 1:49 left that ended a 92-yard drive on the ninth play.
An onside kick by the Steelers following the touchdown was recovered by Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald.
