District Roundup: IUP lifted to victory by late FG
W&J accumulates 863 yards in win

Matt McNelis booted a 28-yard field goal on the final play of yesterday's game to give IUP (4-0, 1-0) a 34-31 win against host Slippery Rock (4-1, 0-1) in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division.

McNelis also converted a 42-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Andrew Krewatch completed 27 of 39 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns for IUP. Krewatch hit Ken Witter with a 16-yard touchdown pass, found Garet Lestocchi for a 10-yard score and completed a 50-yard touchdown to Mycle Skinner.

Washington & Jefferson 64, Saint Vincent 6: The Presidents (4-0), ranked eighth in Division III, gained a school-record 863 yards and scored on 12 of their 14 possessions to rout the host Bearcats (0-4). Kevin Mathews, an Upper St. Clair graduate, rushed for 122 yards and touchdowns of 20 and 21 yards and caught touchdown passes of 11 and 31 yards.

VMI 40, Robert Morris 13: VMI (2-3) rushed for 443 yards with three players going over 100 in a road victory against Robert Morris (3-2). VMI quarterback Kyle Hughes ran for 136 yards and two touchdowns, Howard Abegesah 157 yards and Joey Robinson 100. Hughes also passed for 108 yards and two touchdowns of 32 and 49 yards to Brian Barnson.

Geneva 29, LaSalle 7: The Divison III Golden Tornadoes (4-1) earned the 500th victory for their program as they bested visiting Division I-AA LaSalle (0-4). Brian Wilson and Jamaur had fumble returns for touchdowns.

Edinboro 33, Shippensburg 18: Trevor Harris set school records with 33 completions in 44 attempts for 331 yards and three touchdowns as the visiting Fighting Scots (4-1, 1-0) defeated the Red Raiders (0-5, 0-1) in the PSAC West

Thiel 37, Bethany 13: Steve Minton rushed for a school-record 238 yards and touchdowns of 76 and 23 yards and the Tomcats (2-3, 1-1) set a school record with 425 yards rushing on 64 carries in the Presidents' Athletic Conference victory against the visiting Bison (2-2, 0-1).

Waynesburg 20, Thomas More 6: Kyle Kyper completed 12 of 16 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns and freshman Robert Heller carried 40 times for 192 yards as the visiting Yellow Jackets (4-0, 2-0) defeated the Saints (2-2, 1-2) in the PAC.

Allegheny 14, Denison 0: T.J. Salopek ran 54 yards for a touchdown and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Jake Vibe as the host Gators (3-1, 1-0) defeated Denison (1-3, 0-1) in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

California 56, Clarion 0: Brandon Lombardy rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns to lead California (5-0, 1-0), ranked 12th in Division II, over the visiting Golden Eagles (0-5, 0-1) in the PSAC West.

Westminster 14, Grove City 7: Kevin Franz completed 19 of 26 passes for 188 yards to lead the host Titans (3-0, 1-0) against the Wolverines (1-4, 1-2) in the PAC.
