Trials for Penn State football players postponed

Trials for Penn State safety Anthony Scirrotto and defensive tackle Chris Baker, accused of participating in an April 1 brawl in a State College apartment, were postponed from next month until December following pretrial conferences today in Centre County court.

The new pretrial conference is set for Nov. 20, three days after the conclusion of the football team's regular season.

Five of the seven charges pending against Mr. Scirrotto as the result of an April 1 brawl were thrown out last month, but he still faces counts of criminal trespass and harassment. Mr. Baker is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault and harassment.

Mr. Scirrotto is a junior; Mr. Baker a redshirt sophomore.
