Eric Coxon
School: Brentwood

Last week: All of Coxon's passes were caught Friday night. He completed 16 of 17 for 319 yards and four touchdowns, plus an interception, in a 40-14 Century Conference victory at South Allegheny.
Check this out: Brentwood (3-0, 3-0) is No. 4 in the Post-Gazette's WPIAL Class AA rankings thanks largely to Coxon, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound senior. He is 36 of 57 for 572 yards and eight touchdowns this season and has thrown for 3,605 yards in two-plus years as a starter.
What happened on the interception? It was supposed to be a post pattern and I threw a bad ball. If I had thrown it well, it probably would have been a touchdown.
How does your team compare with Jeannette, the top-ranked team in the state? Jeannette is obviously good, but the rest of the field is wide open. A lot of people think Aliquippa is the next best, but it could be anyone.
What is your favorite dinner entree? Chicken Parmesan.
Dessert? I don't like desserts, but I'll say milk shake.
Which is tougher to drive, Brownsville Road or Route 51? I'm 18, but I don't have a permit yet. I have to get it. I have to be able to drive when in college.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully, I'll be successful and coaching football somewhere.

Jackie Lang
School: North Allegheny

Check this out: Lang, a 5-foot-11 junior outside hitter, is one of the best volleyball players in the WPIAL, and she has helped North Allegheny become one of the best teams. She has been a starter since her freshman year. Lang, who has a 4.2 grade point average, is the daughter of Chip Lang, a former pitcher at North Hills High School who made it to the major leagues with the Montreal Expos.
What feels better, a spike or a block? It depends if the spike is clean. It it's clean and hits the floor right after you hit it, that's great. But when someone touches it, it's not as great. In that situation, I'd say a block is better.
A team from China played in the North Allegheny tournament this weekend and the players on the China team stayed with North Allegheny families. What was that like? It was awesome. It was great to meet them and to understand what they're about, and what they're into in China. We had to get a lot of translators. Some kids at our school actually speak both English and Chinese, so they helped.
Your dad pitched in the major leagues. Did you ever play softball, or baseball with the boys? I used to play softball up until maybe third grade. Then I just lost interest and I got into the other sports.
People might be surprised to know that ...? I like "Shark Week" on the Discovery Channel. It's once a year for a week straight, and I love it.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully, I'm out of college and have a good job. But I hope I'm still close to my family and I hope I stay with sports in some way throughout my life.
