North Allegheny graduate Andrew Krewatch threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Rodriguez, with 9:27 remaining to spark a 21-point rally and lead Indiana University of Pennsylvania to a 38-23 win against East Stroudsburg Saturday.
Krewatch, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound redshirt sophomore, completed 16 of 32 for 244 yards and two TDs. In two games, Krewatch has completed 29 of 52 passes for 505 yards and five touchdowns.
Krewatch started as a true freshman when IUP starter Kevin Weidl sat out the 2005 season due to university-imposed sanctions, then redshirted last season when Weidl returned for his final year. Krewatch completed 123 of 272 passes for 1,714 yards and 12 touchdowns in his freshman season.
Shaler grad honored
Shaler Area graduate Jess Antosz, a 5-11 freshman middle hitter at the University of Akron, was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week for her performance at the Wolfpack Invitational in Raleigh, N.C., Sept. 7-8.
Akron played 13 games during the two-day tournament and posted a 2-1 match record. Antosz recorded 19 blocks, including five solo, and 40 kills, which averages to 3.08 per game.
For the season, Antosz leads the team with 64 blocks, and ranks fourth with 113 kills.
First collegiate goal
North Hills graduate Jaime Morra scored her first goal in Robert Morris' 1-0 soccer win vs. Youngstown State Sept. 12.
Morra, a freshman midfielder/forward, scored in the 26th minute. Morra has one goal and one assist in six games.
