Bethel Park High School graduate Natalie Liberati was named Most Valuable Player at the Penn State Behrend Women's Volleyball Invitational.
Liberati, a 6-foot junior at Grove City College, recorded 47 kills in four matches, including 14 against Fredonia State, and 12 against D'Youville.
Grove City recorded four victories at the tournament, which gave the Wolverines an 8-0 start for the first time since 1985.
Liberati leads the team with 102 kills and 24 blocks. She also had 19 digs and two serving aces.
Big day for USC grad
Upper St. Clair graduate Kevin Mathews had 284 all-purpose yards for Washington & Jefferson in the Presidents' 28-20 win against Geneva on Saturday.
Mathews, a 5-10, 190-pound junior, accumulated 114 yards on 16 rushing attempts, had 74 yards on four kickoff returns, 15 yards on one punt return and caught two passes for 81 yards, including a 79-touchdown from Bobby Swallow.
