Michael Walser's 36-yard field goal with 47 seconds left lifted Robert Morris to a 20-17 victory against host Monmouth in a Northeast Conference game yesterday at West Long Branch, N.J.
Robert Morris (1-1, 1-1) rallied from a 14-0 deficit in the first quarter behind the passing of Erik Cwalinski. He completed 8 of 15 passes for 154 yards and threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Julian Ellison. Mario Hines had two catches for 58 yards and Ellison two for 51 yards. Russ Mykles rushed for 86 yards.
Robert Morris was without coach Joe Walton whose wife, Ginger, passed away Wednesday.
