Wednesday, September 05, 2007

Trinity goalie T.J. Emph makes a safe in the first half against Peters Township's Christian Brandstetter, left, and Austin Nissly (15).

A year ago, Butler advanced to the WPIAL Class AAA boys' soccer semifinals with a team comprised of mainly seniors. Not nearly as much was expected of the Golden Tornado this year, but expectations are quickly on the rise.

Butler (4-0), the Post-Gazette's No. 5-ranked team, continued its strong early season play with a 3-0 non-section win at Baldwin last night.

Butler senior Ryan Armahizer accounted for all the goals.
