WVU reclaims rank as No. 1 party school
Tuesday, August 21, 2007

It has taken years, but West Virginia University is finally No. 1 again -- in The Princeton Review's annual list of Top 20 party schools.

Although a perennial member of the list -- WVU has made it seven times in the past 15 years and was No. 1 in 1997 -- this year it took the top spot away from last year's designate, the University of Texas, Austin. The Texas school was ranked third this year, behind the University of Mississippi.

Penn State, which finished third last year, was rated sixth.

At the other end of the spectrum, Grove City College was ranked fifth among the Top 20 "Stone Cold Sober" schools. Brigham Young University was No. 1 for the 10th straight year.

The rankings are contained in the 2008 edition of "The Best 366 Colleges," which goes on sale today.

The Princeton Review, which is not associated with Princeton University, is a New York company known for test preparation courses, educational services and books.
