'Broadway' not to be overlooked

The natural amphitheater at the West End Overlook, with the Point glittering in the distance, is the setting for Pittsburgh Musical Theater's revue, "Broadway at the Overlook."

Shawn Smith, Jennifer Veltre Smith, Vinny Tresco and Jason Swauger will be among the performers in "Broadway at the Overlook" tonight through Aug. 18.

Pros and students, including Shawn Smith, Jennifer Veltre Smith, Vinny Tresco and Jason Swauger, will combine for songs from "Annie," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Fiddler on the Roof," "West Side Story" and "Jesus Christ Superstar."

Sponsored in part by the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Parks and Recreation, "Broadway at the Overlook" is part of PMT's mission to train and employ Pittsburgh talent in making the great musicals accessible to families.
