The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful
Missy flies out for Ben, L.A. turns out for Becks and Laila Ali weds
Monday, July 23, 2007
Former "Heroes" hottie Missy Peregrym, who'll be starring in the new CW series "Reaper" this fall, is really racking up the frequent-flier miles.

But do you know why?

Because the brunette cutie has been trekking back and forth between Los Angeles and Pittsburgh to keep time with Big Ben Roethlisberger, reports our TV editor, Rob Owen.

You know, Rob's been out in Los Angeles for the TV critics' summer press tour, and when Miss Missy said during a panel that she'd been making a lot of trips to Pittsburgh, inquiring minds wanted to know why.

But our man, Rob, already knew the 411.

Hey, if we were 20 years younger, we wouldn't care if we had to fly from where the original Big Ben is to Big Ben.

"I like it there a lot," Missy said of Pittsburgh. "It actually reminds me a lot of Vancouver," where she is living and filming her new show. "I like the people," she continued about the 'Burgh. "I like that everything is about family and you work hard there, and I appreciate that for sure."

Even though she's gonna be working in Vancouver on her show, "I'm gonna try to be as supportive as possible during the [football season] and hope I can get there. It's gonna be great."

Girl, we love you already!

Well, let's move away from football.

Only for half a second, y'all. Don't get your shoulder pads all up in a bunch.

Los Angeles' pretty people showed up to lend their spray-tanned support to new soccer import David Beckham during his debut Saturday with the Los Angeles Galaxy, reports People.

In addition to his wife, Victoria, (we hope she's eaten something since she got here), and his three boys, Katie Holmes and her little boo boo, Suri, were there with her mother-in-law, Mary Lee Mapother, a k a Tom Cruise's momma, and Eva Longoria, who tore herself away from new hubby Tony Parker to make it. Brooke Shields and her husband, Chris Henchy, funnyman Drew Carey and the governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, were there, too.

Since we mentioned married people, we will let you know that Laila Ali, a knockout inside the ring and out, tied the knot Sunday with her retired NFL player, Curtis Conway.

The bride, 29, wore a champagne-colored silk charmeuse strapless mermaid gown, according to People.

All we know is Curtis, 36, had better treat her right because she's got a mean uppercut.

Pras, one-third of the once successful trio The Fugees, said forget about him, Wyclef Jean and the troubled Lauryn Hill ever having that much-anticipated reunion, reports Eurweb.com via Billboard.

You know, the last time we heard about Lauryn, she was performing in concert in Los Angeles and acting a hot mess -- falling down and rambling -- and her singing wasn't anything to write home about either, according to reports.

Anyway, Pras said, "Me and Clef, we are on the same page, but Lauryn is in her zone, and I'm fed up."

Cat burglars have been hitting the homes of famous folks in Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills and Bel-Air, which is also known as L.A.'s Platinum Triangle.

Access Hollywood reports that the thieves have burglarized about 70 homes and made off with about $7 million cash and jewels.

DANG!

With all that money, why don't these people have better security systems?

Anyway, among the victims of these high-society burglarizing low lifes are Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and former Paramount studio exec Sherry Lansing.

Ooooh!

Eddie Murphy is in trouble now!

Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown was seen having a strategy lunch with pit bull-in-a-skirt lawyer Gloria Allred last weekend.

Seems Miss Brown has hired G-L-O-R-I-A to rep her in her paternity goings-on with Mr. Murphy, reports TMZ.com

Eddie, as you know, is the father of Mel B's baby girl, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. We just love that name.

Well, that brings Mr. Murphy's total number of children to six or seven. We've lost count.

We hope he's squirreled enough money away that he won't have to make another "Norbit" to pay for the care of little Angel Iris.
