Family Film Guide: 'License to Wed'
Tuesday, July 03, 2007

The Post-Gazette reviews movies from a family perspective:

'License to Wed'

Rated: PG-13.

Suitable for: Tweens and above.

What you should know: Robin Williams is a minister who puts a newly engaged couple, played by Mandy Moore and John Krasinski (Jim Halpert on "The Office"), through a bizarre marriage preparation course that could end in their breakup rather than their wedding.

Language: The f-word is heard in outtakes that run with the closing credits, and a few milder vulgarities are used.

Sexual situations and nudity: A bedroom coupling is implied, some cutesy names for sex used and a reference made to a cheating spouse. Since the prep class forbids sex before the wedding, nothing adult is shown, although there is a conversation about sex in unusual places and a hospital tour of delivery rooms.

Violence/scary situations: In moments all played for laughs, a nose is bloodied by a baseball, a car ride proves perilous and a man decks another.

Drug or alcohol use: Adults drink champagne, wine and beer.
