Countdown to 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'

July 21, 2007, is a day that will live in infamy -- or glory -- for fans of Harry Potter. They know that's the day they can get their hands on the final book in the amazingly successful series.

To stoke the fires of anticipation, the My Generation crew wants to know what Potter-ites are thinking and doing to ready themselves for the big one, "The Deathly Hallows."

Let us know your thoughts on the final day in the life of the boy wizard. Compose a one-paragraph answer to each question below. We'll run the results in print editions of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on July 20 and, if the responses are off the charts, we'll run online, at post-gazette.com/books, what doesn't make it into print.

That means you'll need to e-mail those answers to mygen@post-gazette.com by July 17. Please be sure to include your name, hometown and contact information.

How are you with a crystal ball? Do you believe your powers of prediction could ace Madame Trelawney's Divination class?

Ready? Here goes:

1. What is your favorite "Harry Potter" book and why?

2. Except for Harry, who is your favorite character and why?

3. Author J.K. Rowling has announced two characters will die in the last book. Who are they, and why will they meet their doom?

4. What's your next must-read after "Harry Potter" ends?

5. What would you like to see Rowling write about next?

6. Where do you plan to be doing at 12:01 a.m. July 21, when "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" becomes available?
