An employee of a Larimer bakery was shot to death yesterday afternoon just as he was completing his shift.

Floyd Johnson Jr., 26, of East Liberty, who worked at Stagno's Bakery in the 200 block of Auburn Street, was shot multiple times in the chest at 4 p.m., city police said.

Mr. Johnson was taken to UPMC Presbyterian, where doctors preformed emergency surgery, but he died at 5:22 p.m.

Police said the victim was approached by a muscular black man wearing an orange reflective construction vest and a yellow or green hard hat.

The shooter left the scene on foot, detectives said.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Anyone with information should call the Pittsburgh police homicide squad at 412-323-7800.
