Mary Phan-Gruber is leaving The Birmingham Foundation in late August to join Downtown-based consultancy Dewey & Kaye as a senior nonprofit consultant.

Ms. Phan-Gruber was hired as the first employee of the South Side-based Birmingham Foundation in June 1997. During her tenure, she awarded more than $9.2 million in grants to nearly 140 organizations, with a focus on health and human services in the south Pittsburgh area.

Dewey & Kaye is a division of McCrory & McDowell LLC.

"Mary and I have enjoyed a 20-year working relationship, and I am thrilled she will be joining us," said Kate Dewey, manager of the Dewey & Kaye practice.
