Man shooting at snake wounds himself
Monday, June 18, 2007

A snake hunter in Indiana County fired at one but only managed to hit himself.

State police in Indiana said Nile Griffin, 39, of Mahaffey, was hunting snakes last week next to a creek on Old Route 56 in Center Township.

"While attempting to shoot a snake," police wrote in a report, "the victim accidentally shot himself in the right foot."

Police said he injured one of his toes.

The snake presumably escaped.
